At the Wild Card Gym yesterday, Manny Pacquiao while giving interviews to boxing scribes stated that this fight with Marquez will put to rest all the doubts in fans minds that may remain from the first two bouts.
“I want people to be satisfied ….This fight will be the answer of all the doubts “
Training alongside Amir Khan, Pacquiao’s speed difference was pronounced, even though some say that Khan will be the new king of the ring when Manny eventually steps aside. While working the double end bags together the smoothness of Pacquiao’s concentrated movements were clearly a sign of how he is progressing towards being in top physical shape.
Pacquiao himself commented on the question of him overtraining and starting camp early for this trilogy bout.
“I control my training, and step by step until the time comes. I went to MP early to train step by step to be in 100 percent condition one week before the fight”
While discussing the benefits of Baguio training versus training in Los Angeles the champion gave us his thoughts on what he accomplished in the Philippines.
“It’s harder to train they then here (in L.A.) because of the high altitude and its harder to breathe, it’s good though and helps a lot in terms of stamina and conditioning.”
Fans need to watch the video interview on MP8 as Manny discusses his thoughts on the Mayweather-Ortiz event that disappointed some fans. His revelation, without going in depth that something of the same type of behavior that Mayweather displayed with the knockout of Ortiz has happened to Pacquiao himself is interesting.
The champ though does state that the blows were legal in his opinion and that a fighter has got to protect himself at all times. Pacquiao firmly believes that this is the fight that Marquez needs and that he will train very hard for this bout.
“I am expecting that he will train hard and he needs this fight badly, that’s why what I am doing is training hard and on November 12 they will be a lot of boxing in the ring.”
Questions scribes sent Manny’s way included asking his thoughts of facing Sergio Martinez.
“If he is willing to go down to 147 then why not, I’m not picking my opponent or whoever, we should just wait on that”
When asked about eventually facing Mayweather, Manny’s facial expressions said it all; he looked tired of even contemplating the possibility of a mega fight.
“Whatever fight that I have or that is made in boxing I am happy, whoever my opponent is I’m satisfied because I think whatever I have done in boxing is really, let’s say I am satisfied what I have done in boxing… Drug testing is not problems…I always want the fight but we cannot force him.”
Ciao!
