Manny Pacquiao- The Truth About What Builds His Muscle- Alex Ariza

Alex Ariza,

What really builds muscle the safe and healthy way- the smart way- the way all my fighters do it.

It is this legal substance called protein.

The real question is can there be too much protein. What happens when you ingest too much protein.

Remember, not all protein gets absorbed. No matter how much protein you ingest. Not all the amino acids from the protein will actually get to where you want them to go.

We spoke on this in our blog detailing stress and cortisol.

During a workout, Manny Pacquiao’s and all athletes bodies goes through a stressful event. During this stressful event their bodies begins to release cortisol. We need to counteract the body feeling stressed. We do not want it to begin eating off itself. Since your body is now depleted after a workout it will be looking for somewhere to find calories to burn. The first place it will look is from the muscle.

By making sure Pacquiao gets adequate protein and amino acids this will reduce the chance of  any negative effects we do not want to happen.

The body is also depleted of glucagen after a workout, so when you eat your first meal with white rice and fruits it will cause a good insulin spike, carrying those amino acids to the muscle cells.

When we do a protein shake immediately after eating. The reason for the protein shake is to make sure Manny Pacquiao gets enough protein. For someone to think it is a waste of protein, because they have also consumed some beef or chicken is dead wrong. Especially when we are speaking about the PACMAN, because he has a very fast metabolism.

The protein powder will genreally get absorbed first, because it is broken down in the body the faster.

So when you your chicken is breaking down in your body, that white rice you just ate has turned to sugar, causing insulin to be released, and is transporting all those amino acids from the protein powder to the awaiting muscle bellies. We are preventing too much muscle breakdown and any unnecessary stress in the body. This causes the cortisol to stop being produced and allows your body to begin its process of healing when you get your next rest.

A short period of time after Pacquiao’s body has utilized all the protein from the protein powder the chicken and or beef.has digested and it is it’s turn to be utilized in the body for all of it’s caloric intake purposes. It is my opinion the protein from the foods will now digest easier now that your body is calmed down.

Remember everyone’s metabolism is different. For instance, working with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr he is a whole different beast. I have to watch his weight and actually get him leaner for fights. It is different than Manny Pacquiao. Amir Khan is different than both of them.

Because of Manny Pacquiao’s fast metabolism he needs the extra calories. So chicken, beef, and protein powder is the form of extra calories to put in after you get in your rice, veggies, and fruit.

Don’t forget liver glycogen how important that is. It is the most important thing we need to replace.

We will speak on Liver glycogen later, as well as touch on how important it is to eat before a workout- Yes it is important to have the proper nutrients in you before you start working out. This is critical for optimal training.

Until Next Time! Tell all your friend’s you are getting the real tips here only on Mp8.ph

tell manny to rake the tests in order to make the fight with floyd happen

Comment by Dane — June 21, 2011 @ 11:01 am

You could have your own page in men’s health magazine. WOW!

Comment by Joe Mas — June 21, 2011 @ 11:07 am

How much protein is recommended for a person working out and trying to and add lean muscle and maintain body weight? Do you have a certain percentage of your body weight that you recommend.

Its too bad that we have to see ridiculous comments on such a well written article. People need to get their facts right before they make comments. Manny agreed to multiple forms of testing for this fight and most importantly the one agreed to by the boxing commission. If Floyd wants to change the rules go to the commission otherwise shut up and fight.

a comment by alexi above: “tell manny to rake (take) the tests in order to make the fight with floyd happen”….tell floyd to grow a couple of decent size balls & stop being a coward shit hiding inside his momma’s skirt. and you alexi, stop sucking floyd’s pecker.

Comment by IMDAZED — June 21, 2011 @ 12:34 pm

Take the test Manny! Ive been crying about blood test since 2009!

Comment by Mrtoso36 — June 21, 2011 @ 1:21 pm

Tell Floyd to take lie detector test so he can stop ducking pacman in court

Comment by Fr1tz — June 21, 2011 @ 1:23 pm

Right on alex! I have either been taking a whey shake post wo or eating a meal without a shake. I will try eating first followed by a whey shake and see if there is a significant improvements. It makes a lot of sense. Thanks for doing this. I am trying stuff on my own but your guidance is very appreciated! Thanks

Hey Alex, Lovin your posts! keep it up mate.

I heard rumors that consuming protein shakes (powdered specifically) damages the liver and kidneys ? Is that the reason why you give Manny liver and kidney food?

~Many Thanks
Mariyd

How about the muscles on the jaw? I think Floyd perfected that exercise and nutrients since his mouth never stops talking.

Great articles Alex…I am pretty sure Lil Fraud is reading all of these and picking up some tips on how to beat Pacquiao. The only way he can beat him is inside the ring but then again, it is doubtful at this point since he kept saying he will fight Pac and tuning up with Ortiz. Pacquiao already won without putting on the gloves. Waste of time and energy expecting it to happen.

Comment by Stinger — June 21, 2011 @ 4:39 pm

@Alexi
Oh you didn’t know? Your a$$ better call somebody. Manny already agreed to Floyd’s demand as long as it’s not in fight day.

Another great article Senor Ariza!!! My question to you is, what advice would you give an out of shape 45 year old, diabetic who wants to start some type of an excercise routine?

Comment by isidro — June 21, 2011 @ 5:58 pm

I thought and understand it now,Alex maintains great of his boxers and fighters.Pacquiao’s metabolism is fast, that could be the reason why he got losses in those fights that he cut down weight, logic of proper nutrition.

Comment by XylocaineAddicted — June 21, 2011 @ 8:40 pm

I really doubt if all this info will work if applied to Junrey Balawing. I know its working on Pacman. I saw Junrey wearing a t-shirt that ssys “I took the Guiness test, Pacman your next, Floyd take the deposition”

Comment by psychic — June 21, 2011 @ 8:44 pm

ALex, is it possible for you to convince ‘my man’PACMAN to condition his mind on not getting affected by the blood extraction any time or any day of his training? I mean, I believe it is just psychological feeling for him right? unless you can discuss here the scientific explanation of the effects of drawing blood 1 day before the fight. I think by doing so (conditioning his mind) or even applying it in other fights will help him get confidence that it is ok to get his blood drawn anytime without affecting his performance.

nice reading your post sir alex, i just want to ask if there’s a nutrient also or exercise for the jaw of pacman, i noticed that pacman jaw is really hard to break unlike before. thanks

Comment by ted — June 22, 2011 @ 4:43 am

nice one Alex, i like the way you simplify things with our body metabolism. As an athlete, the rule there really is “know thy body first” so that it is easy to apply the type and form of training that you will have or need. More power man.

Tell Mayweather to eat lots of Malunggay, i think he can match Pacmans power by taking bunch of it everyday until fight time…it is the most potent protein rich plant on the planet and most nutritious discovered to date..or maybe thats Pacmans secret…Malunggay Fortified Fist

Comment by Neil — June 29, 2011 @ 7:51 am

Thanks Alex,

I never combo’d protein shake after a meal i think that’s too much for me. I usually just down one after a workout sometimes during the day when i’m training really hard.

thanks
