Boxing fans who may have given up hope for the world’s most-desired boxing fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather could now look forward to a possible match between these two great fighters. All indications point to a possible Pacquiao vs. Mayweather showdown by November 2012 provided they both get past their “qualifying” opponents.

We refer here to the “qualifying” matches as the next possible fights between Floyd Mayweather vs. Amir Khan and between Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley.

From all indications, these matches are likely to happen early or middle of next year.

The Mayweather vs Khan fight has been in the drawing board for months. There is no denying it is one of the lucrative fights Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) can cash in — if the timing is right. And it is one of the easiest fights to make as both of them are under the umbrella of GBP.

After getting past Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12, Pacquiao will have to fight again to prevent rusting. Usually he fights twice a year and it happens in May and November.

At this time Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum has started talking to media about a possible Pacquiao vs. Bradley fight in May next year.

Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach has downplayed a fight with Bradley saying the young and unbeaten champion is not yet on Pacquiao’s level.

According to Roach, Bradley has to earn a fight with Pacquiao. He’s not well known and it is premature to even consider him at this time.

But Roach’s concern is now being addressed after Arum put him in the undercard of Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight in November.

Bradley will take on Joel Casmayor and if he gets past the Cuban slugger, his popularity is expected to soar tremendously.

But what happens if Amir Khan wins over Mayweather or Bradley winning over Pacquiao? Will there’s still be a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather match?

Good but difficult questions to answer at this time. For now we can only speculate.

With these looming high-powered matches capped by the long-awaited Pacquiao vs. Mayweather match, there is little doubt 2012 will indeed be boxing’s finest year.

I hope this is going to push through…They’re not getting any younger and passing up on the most lucrative fight ever is going to be a stupid move for both parties.

Pacquiao vs Bradley would be an easy hurdle for Manny…but the question is the Mayweather-Khan fight. When Mayweather fought De La Hoya, Oscar was winning the fight when he was jabbing followed by a straight punch. When he got tired in later rounds, he stopped jabbing and that made the difference of him winning. Floyd won by a split decision. Knowing he had a hard time with Oscar, he retired despite the rematch clause in the contract to avoid it. The point is; Khan can do this the whole duration of the fight with power and speed. He can go in and out beyond the reach of the counter punching Floyd. If Floyd got hurt by a lefty like Corley and Judah, Khan can also hurt him really bad. It’s a dangerous fight for him if it happens. Anybody who is a threat to his record won’t have a chance fighting him. He will avoid this fight the way he avoided Pacman, Margarito and the Oscar rematch.

Pacquiao’s lawyers should push for the deposition now. Floyd has no excuse now.

Mayweather is just using the popularity of his possible match with Pacquiao to promote his fights. He always say Pacquaio is his next fight after his every fight but it never happened and even denies talking about it. He cheats his fans and all boxing fans. He is indeed just all about money. Why would you want to pay for a such a fight like his fight with ortiz??? Truly he is just riding with manny’s popularity and he wants to do it again this time. Wake-up fanmates!!!

Hello Leo !

Whenever Bradley’s name would come up in conversation as being a candidate for Pacquiao , Arum would dismiss it , pointing out that Bradley could not even fill the house in Palm Springs , so what does he bring to the table ?

Now that Bradley is in Arum’s stable , under contract , Arum sings a different tune .

If these two fight , the PPV #’s will be completely due to Pacquiao as THE draw .

This will result in OK numbers . Nothing great .

Amir Khan does draw PPV numbers . If Ortiz and Floyd had super non-heavyweight numbers , Khan – Mayweather numbers would be terrific .

However , when – not if – Floyd and Manny fight , these numbers will be HUGE !!!!

Maybe Floyd should be there, ringside on November 12th , and after the fight – sorry Marquez fans – Floyd should step up into the ring , shake Manny’s hand , hand him a Mont Blanc , and , in the words of Mills Lane , say ” Let’s get it on !! ”

Even Arum could not stop this train , then ..

RG, don’t forget Bradley is undefeated and an upset is always possible. The Mayweather vs. Khan is fair match for Floyd. I think he will use his skill and experience to beat Amir on points.
