Jeremy Lin scores his second straight Sports Illustrated cover, joining some lofty company

You can point to New York’s cupcake schedule in the days following Jeremy Lin’s ascension into the Knicks rotation on Feb. 4. You can point to the minutes he plays in New York’s frantic pace, as Jason Terry did on Sunday, and all the possessions he gets to dominate. That’s what Player Efficiency Rating — which adjusts for pace, minutes, and takes into consideration all those turnovers and all those possessions used up -is for. And, 2 1/2 weeks into his star turn, Jeremy Lin has gone from D-League refugee to eighth in the NBA in PER. And, as the biggest story in sports at the moment, he’s more than deserved his two straight Sports Illustrated covers. Here’s this week’s:
Bust out the excuses. He’s playing in the country’s biggest market. Because of his Asian-American heritage, he’s reaching out to a basketball-mad community that hasn’t had an American-born star to call its own. It’s February, the brackets have yet to be filled, pitchers and catchers just reported, and the football season ended a few weeks ago — the slowest time of the sports year.

WHAT MAYWEATHER USES ON HIS HANDS.. Lidocaine is not currently listed by the World Anti-Doping Agency as an illegal substance …..Trade names Xylocaine…. IS IT ILLEGAL OR NOT? YOU DECIDE!!

“He offered me $40 million, and no pay-per-view [money],” Pacquiao said, breaking into a laugh. “No pay-per-view. Can you believe that? Would you do that? Come on. What would he say if I offered him $50 million – not $40 million, $50 million – and said ‘No pay-per-view. Take this money and be happy, but no pay-per-view.’ He wouldn’t do it, either.”

Also, Freddy Roach says “We Will keep fighting untill MAYWEATHER COMES TO THE TABLE!!!!… even if we have to fight till we’re 50 years old”

Bob Arum says the deal between Mayweather and Pacquiao can be made this week. But it has to be 50-50 split. Arum says he doesn’t need Mayweather to guarantee Pacquiao $40 million, because he can guarantee Pacquiao’s purse by himself.

On the other hand Mayweather’s people say; that in order for the fight to happen, Pacquiao just needs to understand one thing…. that he will never ever make the money that Mayweather makes no matter how long he fights.

Heard that too, Kilo! But one thing Mayweather needs to understand as well that he’s no richer than Pacquiao either. He’s just telling that to himself and his die hard fans to make him feel better but no one else in the world believe crap he’s saying. He’s 42-0 alright but he’s a born loser to situations he can’t handle. Manny is happy whatever come his way and going by his own business. He has done his mark and he doesn’t need Mayweather to prove that he’s one of the best in history. He already got that accolade when he was named AP boxer of the decade, when he won titles in 8 different division, when he beat more future HOF than Mayweather.

Manny doesn’t need to fight Floyd inside the ring to get $40M. The lawyers will extract more than that after the lawsuit.
