Facing Manny Pacquiao in the ring is every fighter’s dream and just about every boxer in the light and welterweight divisions or thereabouts is aiming for a shot at the pound for pound best boxer in the world.

Why are these aspiring boxers fighting for the opportunity to face Pacquiao? Why don’t they just fight the others in the pound for pound ranking who are also champions in their own right?

The real motivation for these success-driven boxers is nothing else but money or the opportunity to become an instant multimillionaire.

Why is Juan Manuel Marquez crying out loud for another shot at Pacquiao? It seems his first and foremost motivation is money. The opportunity to prove to boxing fans that he is a better fighter is perhaps just secondary.

In his third fight with Pacquiao, Marquez is guaranteed $5 million and a hefty share on pay-per-view revenues and other sources for revenue sharing. Summing up everything, Marquez could make more than $10 million in his ring date with the Filipino boxing star on November 12.

Any aspiring boxer who is given the opportunity to face Pacquiao at this time will not only reap millions of dollars in prizes but will be transformed into an overnight celebrity with a prize cap on his head.

One of the young boxers who has not attained celebrity status in the level of Pacquiao is Timothy Bradley. And he is about to get there courtesy of Manny Pacquiao. Bradley has been calling Pacquiao since his unimpressive victory over Devon Alexander.

Some boxing critics and fans believe Bradley is nothing else but an overrated fighter, judging from his not so impressive performance against Devon Alexander. But his unblemished record is giving him an edge over the other Pacquiao contenders.

Bradley wants a shortcut to super stardom via Manny Pacquiao. Aside from becoming an overnight celebrity, Bradley will join the elite club of multimillionaires in the sport courtesy of Manny Pacquiao.

His signing up with Bob Arum’s Top Rank Promotions is one step away from his dream of facing the pound for pound king and realize his dream of becoming an instant multimillionaire.

Still, he has to get past Joel Casmayor in the Pacquiao vs. Marquez under card on November 12 to fast track his rise to stardom.

Hello Leo !

Very good article . In merry-go-round terms , Manny is The Brass Ring . The dream of beating him , and going on to far greater riches most likely entices all his past opponents .

Mike Tyson once said , ” Everyone’s got a plan , until they step in the ring ( with me ) ” .

However , Manny must always remember that every guy has ” a puncher’s chance ” .
