The debate as to whether or not Pound for Pound Champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KO’s) is, or ever has used Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDS) is endless.

Quite frankly the constant accusations and denials over the past couple of years has gotten tiresome. Its like, can’t we get onto something else? But unfortunately the debate will go on forever, or so it seems. Continue reading “Are there any signs that Pacquiao has used PEDS?” »

Manny Pacquiao Gives Back
By Timothy James,
Manny Pacquiao…….
Manny Pacquiao stands alone in a sport when it comes to his achievements, demeanor, and the hope he brings to his fans.
Rare has there been a champion in any sport that dominates the way he does. Rare has there been a man to capture the world’s heart.
Manny Pacquiao is known as the People’s champion in the Philippines. There is a reason why he is called this. Manny Pacquiao loves his people and his country so much he is willing to give up everything he has if it means erasing poverty in his homeland.
Many star athletes get the taste of money, move out of their neighborhood, and never look back.
But……. Manny Pacquiao was cut from a different cloth. He remembers the days growing up and playing basketball on the gravel roads of General Santos City. He was able to watch someone else’s T.V. and see what a real basketball court looked like. Manny Pacquiao had a dream of playing basketball on a real court with hardwood floors, a roof, and the proper basketball hoops.
The People’s Champ has made that dream a reality. Not only for himself, but for all the young children who live in General Santos City. The children that might not ever have the opportunities and the blessing he has.
Manny Pacquiao knows there are kids walking the street of General Santos City today. Kids that will never be able to play on a real basketball court. Kids that will never make it out of the neighborhood. Manny Pacquiao knows that he can not bring every person with him through his new famed life (even though he tries), so Manny Pacquiao does everything he can to bring the finer things of the world to the people that he loves so much.
Please click on the video below and see the gym and basketball court Manny Pacquiao made for his people in General Santos City. Now every kid will know what it feels like to have the finer things in life.

Final act for Ricky Hatton linked with era-defining Manny Pacquiao

So, Ricky Hatton is finished in the ring as a fighter. He saw sense. A wise move. The final act which saw the curtain fall on the British folk hero’s last scene in the square circle came from the flashing fists of the Filipino phenomenon Manny Pacquiao – whose inexorable rise, in the ring and within politics – knows no bounds.

Hatton suffered depression after the loss to Pacquiao. After Floyd Mayweather Jnr had inflicted Hatton’s first career defeat and created the blueprint on December 8, 2008, the whirlwind from Mindanao ripped Hatton apart and bludgeoned him to flatness on the canvas. Two rounds of devastation. Part Pacquiao, part Hatton. Continue reading “Final act for Ricky Hatton linked with era-defining Manny Pacquiao” »

HBO vs Showtime: Pacquiao-Marquez and Cotto-Margarito Fights a Package Deal

by Scott Christ

Dan Rafael reports that the network that lands the November 12 third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez will also get the December 3 rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito. Both fights will be pay-per-view events.

Rafael also has more on Margarito’s eye condition from manager Sergio Diaz:

“[The doctor] told us Antonio’s problem was very fixable and not a career-ending injury,” Diaz said. “Antonio had pretty much accepted the fact that he would have surgery and have to retire. But they did this different kind of surgery that day, a half-hour surgery. They removed the cataract and put in a new lens. His vision is a whole lot better and will continue to get better. We have to do a minor laser surgery in a couple of weeks, but Antonio is going to be fine. He has been released to continue his career.”

I do sincerely question whether or not Margarito (38-7, 27 KO) will ever be near the same fighter he used to be. Eye injuries are nothing to mess with and can Continue reading “HBO vs Showtime: Pacquiao-Marquez and Cotto-Margarito Fights a Package Deal” »

David Haye: “I Was The Victim of Dirty Tricks!”

by Johnny Walker

David Haye has really been running the gamut of emotions since his wide unanimous decision loss to world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko last Saturday in Germany.

Haye, who had convinced many people, including boxing experts who should have known better, that he had the talent and experience to defeat Klitschko, has been alternating between begging for a rematch (sure, who wouldn’t want another unmerited payday?), and making excuses for failing to live up to the two-plus years of trash talk and hype he produced before going meekly down to the Ukrainian star.

First there was the now infamous “toe-gate,” in which Haye whipped off his shoe immediately after the fight to show the television audience – and a bemused Larry Merchant—his sore tootsie. Haye repeated this performance later at the post-fight presser, which calls into question not only his judgment—Haye is beginning to appear delusional as well as arrogant—but the judgment of those around him. Surely someone might have told him that the toe excuse was a really bad idea. Or maybe the yes-men Haye surrounds himself with don’t want to rock the boat.

At any rate, Haye has been mocked internationally for the toe trauma, none better than by Wladimir Klitschko himself, in a hilarious Continue reading “David Haye: “I Was The Victim of Dirty Tricks!”” »

Mayweather targeting Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan after Ortiz,

Since announcing that he will face WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz in September, undefeated former five weight champion Floyd Mayweather has talked about one subject more than any other.

That subject isn’t his upcoming bout though, nor his opponent or even his plethora of upcoming legal cases.

The subject he has talked about constantly has instead been the possibility of him finally locking horns with Manny Pacquiao, a fighter he twice negotiated with but twice eventually failed to come to terms with.

Floyd has mentioned Pacquiao fighting his previous opponents, how he wants to fight him after he gets done with Ortiz. He has made more insinuations about Pacquiao’s use of performance enhancing drugs, and even at one point dragged Shane Mosley’s name into the debate, and was quoted by the AsianJournal as saying: Continue reading “Mayweather targeting Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan after Ortiz,” »

RING RATINGS UPDATE: HAYE DROPS IN HEAVYWEIGHT RANKINGS

David Haye’s uninspired challenge to heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko last Saturday did more than disappoint fans and spark harsh criticism from the sports media, it dropped the former beltholder in THE RING’s heavyweight rankings.

Haye (25-2, 23 knockouts) was the magazine’s No. 2-rated heavyweight going into the much ballyhooed heavyweight showdown, which he lost via one-sided unanimous decision.

“The only question following David Haye’s pitiful showing against world champion Wladimir Klitschko was how far down the ranking he should fall,” said Nigel Collins, Editor-in-Chief of THE RING magazine. “After due consideration, we decided on number four, mainly because fifth-rated Ruslan Chagaev was stopped by Klitschko, while Haye lasted the distance.” Continue reading “RING RATINGS UPDATE: HAYE DROPS IN HEAVYWEIGHT RANKINGS” »

Mayweather Backtracks: More Insinuations About Manny Pacquiao, PEDs

This has been a rough week for Floyd Mayweather Jr.

With press and promotion being a necessary part of the lead-up to any given fight, you can’t really blame the undefeated brawler for opening himself up to the media. At the same time, though, whenever Mayweather opens his mouth lately, cringeworthy moments seem to follow.

The latest such incident came as Mayweather once again, somehow, found the topic of Manny Pacquiao tossed in his direction. Like a fish, he took the bait hook, line and sinker. Continue reading “Mayweather Backtracks: More Insinuations About Manny Pacquiao, PEDs” »
