Stamina has a lot to do with your heart rate- how relaxed are you, but more importantly, what happens to your breathing pattern once your heart rate elevates.
How you breathe will determine the amount of oxygen your body gets in- the longer you will last in a fight.
1st off there are different breathing techniques while running that can be employed for exercises.
I have even heard so much as, “breathe through you nose and your mouth at the same time”, which I believe to be impossible. I will discuss this in a video blog.
If you do your research you will read “Breathe through your nose and out through your mouth.” You will read this is the way to train, because it maximizes air to your lungs. When you get more air to your lungs you will be able to perform your cardio routine for a longer period or time.
In the corner I do have my fighters breathe through their nose and out through their mouth in order to relax, refuel, and get ready for the next round.
Breathing through your nose and out through your mouth is an excellent way to calm your body down and get the maximum amount of oxygen to your lungs, but it is not a realistic way to train when you are training for a fight, because it is not the way you will breathe during the fight itself.
I always train my fighters to breathe through their mouth and out their nose. This is realistic during the fight. I want my fighters to have a rhythm to their breathing, maximizing the realities they will feel when they get in a war during the fight. If I was to train my fighters to breath through their nose and out their mouth then they would not be prepared for what was ahead.
Their reality is they will be in a fight that will raise their heart rate to a level causing them to breathe through their mouths in order to get the amount of air their body is demanding from them at that very moment. When this happens in a fight my fighters are mentally and physically ready for it.
This is why I like swimming so much. It teaches your to breathe through your mouth and slowly let the air our of your nose. Even when you are fatigued in the water and your heart rate is pounding your have to stay to that same rhythm; “In through your mouth and slowly let it trickle out your nose.”
In a fight and your body forces your to breathe through your mouth and when you train for this action to occur you are 100% comfortable and ready for it. If you weren’t then your heart rate would go even higher, causing you to become exhausted sooner. If you are not trained for this and your body goes against something it has been trained for it will go into a panic. Guess what happens when your body goes into a panic? It gets drained even faster, causing more fatigue to set in. This is one of the main reason you see Pacquiao strong in the later rounds, it is because his breathing patterns are something he has come equipped to learning and mastering. I can not emphasize this aspect of training enough. If you are in a fight and start breathing in a way you have not trained your body to become accustomed to it will panic and you will exhaust yourself.
There, I have let out a secret and one of the reasons you see what you see in all of my fighters.
Sometimes it is hard for me to write these blogs, because I have to let out what my specialties are, but I feel I have the best boxers in the world and if some other boxer learns some of my techniques then so be it, we will still beat them!
Plus, I have more conditioning methods than just this. I am letting out the little things to let people know the truth. The truth is, their fighters, or they themselves, are not doing things the proper way. Most boxers are behind the times or they are not working with someone that knows what he or she is doing.
For me this is easy. I think about it in my sleep. I figure things out and I apply them to my fighters.
We all have our gifts in life.
Most of the gifts people have are not from something they read out of a text book; it is something that was written in a text book because of what they know.

Most people do not know this, but years ago Manny Pacquiao suffered from a lot of ailments. There were nagging shoulder problems and also cramping problems in his legs.
It was hard for MP to go past 5 or 6 rounds without his legs tightening up, especially around the calf area.
People got to see first hand during the Mosley fight that Manny Pacquiao’s calves like to tighten up during the fight. This was a problem we thought we got rid of, but we all watched it reoccur.

I have been getting a lot of emails asking about training and what do I think is so special about the Pacman. There are really a lot of factors. One factor is that he always comes to camp in shape. The reason this is so important is the first couple weeks are always the most
crucial when it comes to training. Well I should change that statement. Every week is the most crucial, but the first couple weeks are when you really focus on adapting the muscles to the routines.
Your goal is to get the muscles in rhythm. When you watch Manny hit the bag, the mitts, even when he runs, his body is in rhythm with everything in his mind.
Why is rhythm so important? Have you ever seen a karate guy break though a stacks of bricks with one powerful shot? It is because his body was in rhythm. The martial artist’s rhythm allowed his body to flow as one movement, as one motion. Manny Pacquiao calls it being synchronized and I believe that is an incredible way to describe it.
When your body, muscles, and mind, are listening and feeling the same rhythm, and everything is synchronized, then your body is on point to release energy from it’s core to it’s feet; at the same time your core releases it’s movement through the shoulders, arms, and fore-arms, tightening up the wrist, and creating your hand to have the force of a weapon.
This weapon is always cocked and loaded and can be thrown from any position at anytime in the fight. This is because your muscles are balanced and the energy being released to your body is coming from the middle, or core, spreading outward. It doesn’t matter your position in the fight, because you are in a position of balance. Your position is always stable, as your muscles are flowing together to land a knockout blow from any angle.
Manny Pacquiao is noted for having the best footwork in the game. And that is a worthy compliment to give him. It is true.
The other parts/muscles of Manny Pacquiao’s body allow him to have the best footwork. When his core is stronger then the rest of his body; his body has to follow his core. If your core is following your body then you are doomed to get injured and not be the fighter you should be.
When your core is the strength and balance point of your body this allows your feet and hands to be much faster, much more accurate, and you will continue to get better and better everyday.
That being said, you do not go from your core directly to your hands or your feet.
When training, everything has to be symmetrical. if you forget about your shoulders it could cause pain in your neck. If you forget about your forearms is could cause pain in your elbow. I know people that have horrible neck problems and the right side of the neck is killing them. It is because their hamstrings are not developed properly and they are being over powered by their quadriceps, causing your body to be unbalanced. This leads to pain and injury.
Go back and watch all the videos we have filmed during Road TO Mosley. Start from day one. When we started you will see our that focus was never to throw fully extended punches, or bring the knees up too high on a run. Our goal was to loosen up areas, tighten up other areas, feel the rhythm and become synchronized.
Watch the second week of training. You will see Manny Pacquiao running with others. Notice how much smoother Manny Pacquiao runs then the people running along side him. You will see how his Left knee comes up to the same height as his right knee when we are focusing on High Knee drills. You will notice there is a relaxed flow to his intensity.
It is because years ago we worked on the rhythm of the body, focused on everything being synchronized, and made sure his body was symmetrical.
When you add these elements with creating the proper diet, adding supplements like a Vitamin B, or a multi-vitamin, and you increase protein for muscle growth, along with adding Amino Acids for recovery, making sure Pacquiao is getting the proper rest, not over training, but focused on Key Training; what do expect to happen to someone that was already great. That is why we laugh at people that think we would ever add something that is a banned substance.
All I think when I hear that from people, is, “These are some pretty ignorant people when it comes to proper nutrition, training, and rest.” This is what happens when you actually do everything correctly. I do not take those comments personal, why should I? They are untrue. If anything these people are complimenting my work. They are saying what we have done is so unbeievable we must be cheating.” How can I take that any other way then it being a compliment?
I know for a fact we are the only people, besides my other fighters doing it 100% correctly. By the book correctly. I would rather sleep like a man then sleep as a liar.

Learn how to do it correctly. There is a reason why Julio Cesar Chavez Jr out lasted his last opponent (Zbik) in the ring. It was his conditioning that really took over.
But the key is not always what you think.
One of the keys is; if you are over working your body during the fight by not having the correct form or my not being balanced and not being synchronized then you will tire faster.
I watch all these other fighters, including UFC fighters, and most of them are out of synch. This causing them to gas out.

Preparing fighters to fight is not easy- There are complexities in every aspect of training and diet. When I choose the word complexities, what I mean is, you are always having to adjust and adapt to each fighter and to each circumstance to each fighter. Anyone can learn on paper. We can all learn, we can all memorize, and we can all understand, but the key is to apply. Once you apply your knowledge then is is all about adapting. Adapting to what is happening. Adapting to your surroundings. Adapting to your fighter. Adapting to every change that always needs to take place. Everyday you have to pay attention for a possible needed adjustment. It is my job to make that correct call.
However, you need the knowledge to make that correct call. What I write below is what I know in the area of nutrition and supplementation. I take from this and apply it to everything I do.
Remember- the key is to not act like a robot- the key is to adapt to what your body needs what it wants-what it demands.

For the 1,300 plus members that were kind enough to join, for my top bloggers, and people that put so much effort into it- please accept my humble apologies.
It just came to a point for me that when I am promised something over and over again by the agency that was building the network and those promises never happened-I had to realize what was bad now, would only get worse later.

Water Hydration How important is it…
Probably more important than anyone imagined. Did you know that water will actually help your joints from inflammation?
Maintaining proper hydration can do far more for your body than just helping you lose weight. Fluid intake will promote circulation and help to reduce the toxicity that leads to joint inflammation. Believe it or not, I believe that water is one of the biggest ways to relieve joint pain.
It can also play a huge part with preventing Arthritis. Rheumatoid joint pain – arthritis – is a signal of water shortage in the painful joint that you are feeling. It can affect the young and the old. Arthritis is most commonly known as something older people get, but it is not. Many pregnant woman experience this, as well as athletes, young or old.
Shortage of water can cause lower back pain, because of the dehydration in the joint cavities.
Without enough water and other fluids, you’ll die within the week. Although water does not provide energy in the same way carbohydrates and fat do, it plays a very important role in energy transformation. Water is the medium in which all energy reactions take place. I thought it would be good to speak about the importance of breathing and how it relates to increasing your stamina. Even more important, I want to talk about practicing your breathing for reality.
