Arum ready to meet Pacquiao

Manila, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao is expected to return to the US this week from his Europeam vacation to finalize the details of his much-awaited fight on Nov. 10, Top Rank big boss Bob Arum said yesterday. Arum, still in Los Angeles following the staging of Nonito Donaire’s headliner at the Home Depot Center, told the Bulletin that he will meet up with Pacquiao either Friday or Saturday.

“I understand that Manny’s returning this Wednesday but I’ll see him when I get back from the press tour for the Sergio Martinez-Julio Cesar Chavez fight,” said Arum.

Arum said he intends to close out a deal very soon.

Being eyed as opponents for Pacquiao are Tim Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Bradley is under contract to grant Pacquiao a direct rematch following his  controversial 12-round split decision win over the Filipino last June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

At that meeting Pacquiao will be told what to do and will humbly reply “yes sir, boss”.

I’m happy for him, but his career is over with. He’s on the backside of his career, which makes me sad, but all things comes to an end and for Pacquiao he represent himself well, thanks for memories Pacman.

“Yes boss, I will just do my job boss, I will fight whoever makes the most money for you boss, I will take the loss with Bradley gracefully so a rematch can be made for you boss”, just doing my job boss.. Sad really sad..

This may be the end of his boxing career as you’d like to remember it, but the story ain’t over. If as Arum has said publicly that he’s had to wire money to casinos to cover gambling debts, wire advances against future purses, Pacquiao going to be one of those guys that has to keep going to make money. Aren’t political campaigns expensive also? This is not going to end well.

Dave G you are absolutely right 100 percent. Pacquiao financial set back will bring him down. He’s going to be like Tyson old & broke Im not surprise if I see him doing broadway act few years from now. I hate to see my fellow country man go down in history like that. God forbid that doesn’t happen

If its Bradley or marquez next then I for 1 will not b paying for the ppv, arum has totally ruined mannys career now once again telling Manny who he has 2 fight, and who he believes will make him and not Manny the most muny,y can’t Manny just open his eyes and realise what arum is up 2 and get away from him and top rank where he will make a lot more muny for himself instead and of being bleed dry by this leech arum, but it is sad 2 say what fight will make him most remembered in boxing may never happen because of Mr arum, its just a sad day wen he is still telling Manny who 2 fight even tho Manny wants Floyd next its a disgrace 2 boxing

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Marquez 4 in Cowboy stadium. Arum gets his way once again.

Comment by DaveG — July 10, 2012 @ 11:20 am

Paul, he can’t get away. He likely owes Arum/TopRank a ton of money. Arum’s got him locked up, probably knows secrets. The unfortunate thing is Arum is ruthless. If Pacquiao tries to turn his back on him, Arum will destroy him; he is a nasty, vindictive man. It’s no accident he and Floyd, Oscar/Golden Boy are mortal enemies.

Comment by DaveG — July 10, 2012 @ 11:26 am

And guess what, I guarantee, Koncz works for Arum. His job is to keep an eye on Pacquiao and all the people around him for Arum. If anybody tries to wise Pac up to Arum, Koncz will let Arum know. The beauty of the scam, Arum pays Koncz with Pacquiao’s money.

It’s very sad to see that pacman is easily being manipulated by this two headed bastards ( koncz & arum ) they are total in control of manny damn even Stevie wonder could see it. Feel bad for my homeboy thou. But that’s what happen if you owe your master tons of money you’ll be his slave until you die.

Well davG a get wot u mean and its a bad day when a promoter blackmails a fighter,if arum would get the mayweather fight on Manny would b ok with his muny and what ever debt he has but instead bob arum is 2 interested in makin muny for himself which is y me and every other boxing fan including yourself knows that the pacquiao Bradley fight was fixed for arum 2 make more muny,he himself said it that he stands 2 make a lot of muny for a rematch plus the huge give away was the big rematch ticket for a pacquiao vs Bradley 2 at the mgm grand November 10th,and guess when arum has got mannys next fight for,Manny must get away from him even if it means paying a lot or muny 2 arum 2 buy out his contract, just think of how much he will make for a fight between him and Floyd and a rematch if he wins, arum will get no cut if it so it makes sense 2 buy it out, arum is looking for a new cash cow ever since Manny said he has until 2013 b4 he gives up boxing so who other than Bradley would fill in for him,he also has chavez but martinez will prob bash him up good fair he took good punches against Andy lee but martinez is much more of a puncher than lee,so arum can’t relay on chavez for cash and Bradley is in a division where he can make a ton of muny for him,so Manny has 2 cut from top rank if he has any chance of saving his legacy in the sport fair he has beat great boxing champs but the 1 to beat is Floyd mayweather Jr and if he can achieve that then that will grisly solidify his legacy as 1 of the thee all time greats of boxing but he has 2 fight him and either ditch top rank or top rank helps him and lands the fight for him but arum doesn’t like Floyd so it may never happen at all

Sadly, Pacquiao aint as good as he was 2-3 years ago. He was a destroying machine with all the tools to defeat anyone including Mayweather (which is why he ducked the whole time). But now Pac is just your average “good fighter” and not “beast” anymore. They better do a rematch with Bradley since Bradley clearly lost that fight and got gifted with a decision. After pac defeats Bradley (twice), he should hang them up and retire before he embarrasses himself more in his advanced age (33 only but with the wear and tear he’s gone through, he’s more like 38 or 40).

Pacquiao is without doubt the most exciting fighter when he was at the top of his game. He did what nobody else could do or is even doing right now in boxing, which is to giving us entertaining fights. But I called it 2-3 years ago. HIs style of fighting is one that can only thrive while in your prime. It doesn’t work anymore when your approaching mid 30s and to ask Pac to change his style now and become a more defensive, laid back, low octane, counter punching boring fighter, would be like asking a Jew not to love money.

I truly hope he can get away from those snakes. He seems like a genuinely great guy who made something of himself, trying to do good by his family and people-none of us is perfect. It pains me to see him taken advantage of by guys like Arum and Koncz. But the story’s not new, Arum’s been doing this to boxers for 30 yrs-and watch, when the money stops flowing, Arum won’t be around, he most likely won’t even return Pacs phone calls. There’s a special place in hell for people like him.

Oh Pacman, please reject the rematch deal! PLEASEEEEE!!! Don’t make yourself a pawn of this corrupted business!

Comment by Ab — July 10, 2012 @ 11:20 pm

Bradley vs Pacquiao 2 ???? I am glad I did not order the first sham fight. Why should I pay for the second fight. I am spending my money to any Arum’s fight show.

Comment by Ab — July 10, 2012 @ 11:23 pm

Sorry I meant ( I am not spending my money to Arum’s fight show)

Just seen that bob arum says the reason that the pacquiao vs mayweather fight won’t happen in 2012 is because no1 can commit Floyd 2 a fight because he is in jail, but Floyd could b our as early as July 29th for good behavior so y doesn’t arum approach team mayweather with a contract and get them 2 give it 2 Floyd 2 look over for November 10th arum did say that Floyd would need 2 train for 3months and by my calculations if he gets out July 29th he will have plenty of time,so arum could start everyhn rolling by goin 2 team mayweather it even better go and see Floyd in the jail and talk about it for that date November 10th,and get him 2 sign it but only on the conditions he is out in plenty of time for that date if not then rip up the contract then if he is then get the fight set for November 10th,that eat we will all no who is the 1 behind talk breakdowns then both camps can’t point the finger at either camp it will all hang over 1 camp only, this makes sense because Manny needs a big name 2 motivate himself after his last few fights and who other than Floyd mayweather, and for floyd he has always said he can take time out and still come back and win so this is a good wae 2 prove it,he hasn’t fought since may nor has he trained so make this fight for this date November 10th even more exciting 2 watch so now is the best time for both camps 2 strike a deal and get this fight on,no rematches for Manny just MANNY PACQUIAO VS FLOYD MAYWEATHER NOVEMBER 10TH

Whoever says Pacquiao is done is DUMB! Pacquiao is not done and he is still dangerous! Its just other fighters had figured him out and that is not to fight him. No one can ever look good on chasing somebody! But I guarantee you this! Give Pacquiao a good fight like what Cotto did then you will see the Manny of old and new!

Now adays, nobody wants to fight him and ofcourse his fights are becoming boring but it aint Pacquiaos fault!
Pacquiao picked Tomothy Bradley cause Bradley promised to make Pacquiao uncomfortable! But what had happened after round 3??? Nuff sed!
