“I saw Donaire’s weigh-in and he is a pound and three quarters underweight. Why come in that light in you don’t have to? Where is Donaire’s muscle symmetry and his definition? ”
Alex Ariza, who has been having a war of words with ex-Balco head Victor Conte regarding the conditioning of fighters under their tutelage was concerned about the obvious lack of conditioning of Nonito Donaire (26-1 18ko’s), who faces undefeated Omar Narvaez (35 -0-2 19KO’s) on HBO this evening for the WBC and WBO bantamweight titles.
“Nonito had no definition, no nothing, If my body was going to look like that after one of Conte’s specialty nutritional plan, I’d rather go to a deaf, dumb, and blind man instead of Victor Conte. It looked like there was no conditioning involved, just looked like he dropped weight.”
The concern may be if Narvaez takes Donaire to the later rounds that the stamina won’t be there to prevent Nonito from fading. The last several bouts for Omar have gone into the championship rounds and he has become accustomed to battling it out to the end as he moved up in competition. Donaire has not gone past the 8th round since 2009, when he won a unanimous decision with Rafael Concepcion.
“No definition, no muscle symmetry, no nothing, completely smooth. We will see tonight in the fight, you never know. It’s hard to say until we get into the fight, he is facing another smaller guy, so we will see.”

Ariza seems right. Donaire’s body sideview is like somebody with no exercise at all. (honestly, I have a better profile when I was younger). I hope this fight won’t be perceived lateron as similar to the Pacquiao-de la Hoya fight where de la Hoya was labelled as a “de-hydrated dried out fighter” just to go down in weight to meet the bout catch weight. At the admitted natural walking weight of 140 lbs and down to 116.2 is really alarming.

Victor Conte just selling power pills and no hard work involved. Good for Donaire he has Robert Garcia in his corner. He is coming into the fight weighing 130 lbs and some pills from Victor.
